Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

When Penny Proud (Kyla Pratt) turns sixteen, her dad, Oscar, demands that she can't be a Spare Change (the dance group of a teenage rapper, 15 Cents) dancer. Penny sneaks out of the house, and meets 15 Cents. Meanwhile, her dad failed to enter a snack academy. 15 Cents drives her home and Penny kisses him, and as her father yells, she's embarrassed. Penny gets scolded and she goes back to her room in total anger. Her mom, Trudy, gives the birthday present from her dad. All of a sudden, her family is invited on a cruise ship, they learn it's a plot by the evil Dr. Carver (Arsenio Hall) who wants Oscar's secret to his new Proud Snack. Since Oscar won't reveal, Dr. Carver sends peanut-shaped clones of Penny, Oscar, Trudy, Bebe & Cece, Suga Mama, and Puff back home. And the only place they will find the secret to the snack was in Penny's birthday present - her necklace.

[edit] Trivia

  • This was the first Disney Channel original animated film broadcast in widescreen on television, but was later re-broadcast in full screen.
  • In this film, Wizard Kelly's face is slightly revealed.
  • When the Oscar clone is playing Stuffball, Mangler Mania, the guy he's going up against, has a catchphrase like Hulk Hogan.
  • A continuity error is shown in the movie. In the TV series, Penny and her friends are 14 and attend a Junior High School. In the movie, they're all 16 and in High School. This means that the movie skips an entire year which might have included Penny and her friends' graduation from Junior High and their 15th birthdays. This may have just been a forward jump used as a plot element to end off the series.
  • Dr. Carver's appearance was inspired by The Penguin in the Tim Burton movie, Batman Returns.
  • An extended alternate ending was shown on the DVD and one time on Disney Channel and it was seen Suga Mama and Puff are giants and since this is the finale of The Proud Family.
  • Bobby Proud has a different voice actor in this movie.
  • Sticky mispronounciate "yacht" to "yatch"
