[edit] Plot summary
Jade, Opal and Amber are three girls who live in a parallel world. Each is given a magical stone of their own name on their fourteenth birthday. Jade is a proud daughter of the Duke of Divulyon. Amber is a sensitive peasant girl whose mother dies at the beginning of the story. Opal is a quiet, soft-spoken, mysterious girl, who is often very cold. Before they meet they are told that they are enemies but nevertheless they become closer throughout their quest to discover their destiny with the wisdom of the sorceress Oonagh. All the while they are watched by the evil Council of Twelve, a group of naive, power-hungry old men, and its evil leader, the Thirteenth Councelor who is the combined spirit of those men. While the girls are fighting the Council of 12,they embark on many adventures, overcome obstacles and meet different characters such as Adrien of Rivebel, Jean Losserand and the chosen one. Meanwhile, the life of a girl named Joa,(with the initials of the three girls) who is struggling to fight for her life in a hospital in modern-day Paris, depends on the strength of the relationship between Jade, Opal and Amber.
