[edit] Performance

An Ofsted inspection in December 2005 rated the school as "outstanding" in every category [1]. However, it was commented that the school should increase communication between it and the parents of the pupils, as well as to take better consideration on the pupil's own ideas. Every child is expected to take at least one Technology GCSE.

For the past two years, the school has achieved 100% 5 A*-C GSCE's from Year 11 pupils (this however, is only due to the fact that the school was able to include the ICT GNVQ qualification, which the shcool stated was worth 4 GCSES - now however, the school can no longer put this qualification toward claiming that they receive a 100% A* - C pass rate from Year 11s. And in recent league tables the school was seen to, as the Lincolnshire Echo so finely put it, 'fall from grace'), and it was featured in a Lincolnshire Echo (the local paper) front page article in 2005 where it was said that the school was the best in the country.

The school is both a "Technology College" and "Training School". It has been awarded the Artsmark and Sportsmark accrediations as well as the "International School Award (Intermediate)"[citation needed].

[edit] Rules and Regulations

The rules at the priory at very strict and are enforced by all members of staff, to uphold the schools good reputation that is known throughout the country.

The uniform code in the school is extremely strict. To make sure pupils are wearing their uniform correctly, the staff are positioned around the school during change over periods and lunch/break.

[edit] House system

The school, in common with many private schools in England, designates each pupil and teacher entering the school a member of one of four houses, to which the student belongs to for the duration of their studies at the school. The house system provides inter-school competitions in sports and other activities, including a whole-school sports day, where an ice cream van is invited, and makes a lot of money.

The four houses within The Priory LSST are known as Sempringham(yellow), Avalon(green), Castille(blue) and Alexandria(red), and each of the houses' members are recognised by a badge on their jackets (in the house colour). These badges can be obtained from the school shop, among other things.

[edit] The School Day

The school operates a 5 Period(Lesson)Day, with a time set aside for Lunch and Break time, and 5 minutes between Periods for 'movement', to allow students to get to their next lesson, as the Sixth form block, where Drama, Art, English and Music are taught is the other side of the school campus. The sixth form block also holds a library, where students can borrow DVDs, Videos or Books.
