The Pit and Pendulum (public house)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pit and Pendulum is a gothic-themed public house situated in Hockley, Nottingham, United Kingdom. Its name is derived from a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. It is part of the Eerie Pub Company, a pub chain which runs many similar themed public houses across the country, including locations in London and Aberdeen. Among the gothic-themed paraphernalia are large tables, thrones, and a range of torture devices decorating the walls. The toilets are hidden behind a make-shift bookcase, and are equipped with sound effects to create a gothic ambience.
[edit] Cocktails
The pub is famous for its cocktails, named "The Seven Deadly Sins" (each cocktail representing a different sin), which are standard chain-pub cocktails specially renamed, such as Sloth (Screaming Orgasm) and Greed (Long Island Iced Tea).
