The Phoenix Throne is the third and most recent full length release from Chicago-based metalcore band Dead to Fall. The album contains some of the longest songs the band has recorded to date. Lyrically, the album is arguably the band's most diverse yet. Chum Fiesta depicts the narrator being torn apart in a shark attack, while Guillotine Dream tells the tale of a condemned man as he awaits his execution. Doomed To Failure describes a battle between two dreams (one male, one female), ultimately ending with the demise of the female. However, the male realizes that without her there is no point to his life, suggesting that the constant struggle provided all power. This is even more so evident in the song's closing line:
"The struggle was keeping us both alive."
Some feel that this album is also a concept album, starting where a man loses everything, people start to abandon him, being chased down, losing loved ones and eventually dying.

[edit] Trivia
- Some digital media players, such as iTunes, recognize the track Smoke & Mirrors as "Pawns."
- Michael Romeo of Symphony X provides the orchestra/choir present in "Death & Rebirth."
- No original members from the first album were involved with the recording of The Phoenix Throne, with the exception of Jon Hunt. This is particularly ironic since he wasn't actually a founding member.
