The People's Choice (TV series)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The People's Choice was a 1955-1958 half-hour black-and-white American television sitcom starring Jackie Cooper as Socrates "Sock" Miller, a New York City politician with a basset hound named "Cleo", whose thoughts, as she balefully observes Sock's dilemmas, are recorded on the soundtrack for the viewers' amusement. At one point, Sock marries his girlfriend Mandy Peoples (Patricia Breslin) but keeps the marriage a secret because her father, the mayor (Paul Maxey), disapproves of their relationship.
