At Emily's insistence, Ross is getting rid of everything in his apartment that Rachel might have touched or sat on; Gunther, who has a crush on Rachel, buys everything. Later, Emily decides that she and Ross will be moving into a whole new apartment far away from everyone else. Joey is furious at Emily's demands and wants to say something to Ross, but everyone else tells him he can't.

Rachel and Monica are down in the storage closet when they toss a bug bomb at a tall, strange man with an axe that scared them. Joey later tells them that the person they fogged was not a yeti but Danny, a new neighbor who had been in the Andes Mountains for the past four months. The girls try to apologize, but Danny does not accept their apology with sincerity.

Phoebe gets a fur coat from her mother, which clashes with her anti-fur stance. Phoebe decides to cremate the fur coat, but changes her mind when she sees herself in the mirror with it on and decides to keep it instead. However, she gives it to a stranger when she sees a squirrel and develops a guilty conscience.

Joey blurts out his true feelings about Emily's unreasonable requests. Ross does not respond well and storms out.

Rachel later sees a cleaned-up Danny and is attracted to him, but she goes on the defensive when he suggests that she is just into appearances. The two then go to get a pizza after Rachel suggests that he doesn't really know her.

Ross agrees to come to dinner at Monica's apartment. When Rachel gets back from her pizza dinner with Danny, she decides to stay in her room because Emily doesn't want Ross to see her anymore. Ross begs her to stay, and she agrees. After an unexpected Ugly Naked Guy sighting, Emily calls and discovers that Ross and Rachel are together. Ross insists that nothing is going on between himself and Rachel and says that Emily has to trust him. Emily says that she cannot trust him, and Ross concludes that their marriage is over.
