[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Chandler is offered a promotion at work. Since he was hired on as a temp (five years ago) and he hates his job, instead of accepting the promotion he quits. Since he doesn't want to be stuck doing data processing forever, he goes to a career counselor...who determines he's best suited for a job in data processing. He ignores calls from his boss, who is trying to entice him into accepting the promotion, because he doesn't want to be "one of those guys that's in his office until midnight worrying about the WENUS (Weekly Estimated Net Usage System)." He eventually accepts the position - he's given his own office and his own secretary - and quickly becomes one of "those guys" worrying about the WENUS.

Ross starts dating Celia, a lady from work. He's tripped up when she wants Ross to talk dirty. Joey offers to teach him how by having Ross practice on him. As Joey explains, "If you can't talk dirty to me, how are you gonna talk dirty to her? Now tell me you want to caress my butt!" A reluctant Ross agrees to go along - much to the amusement of Chandler, who walks in on their practice. "It's okay," Chandler says, "I was always rooting for you two kids to get together."

Phoebe mentions that one of her massage clients, Steve, is opening a restaurant and needs a new chef. She arranges an "audition" for Monica at her apartment. Rachel is dismayed to learn that Monica has hired a girl she works with to waitress for her. When Monica's original waitress backs out, Rachel fills in for her. Unfortunately for Monica, the "audition" is a disaster - on the way to the apartment, Phoebe reveals, Steve smoked a marijuana joint. He then developed a serious case of the munchies, and was too stoned to enjoy the special dishes Monica prepared (he was more interested in taco shells, Sugar-Os, and Gummi Bears). To get revenge, Phoebe gives Steve an extra-painful massage.
