"The One With the Princess Leia Fantasy" is the first episode of season three of the television situation comedy Friends.

Monica is trying to get over her breakup with Richard. She hasn't slept for three days - most of which has been spent crying. Phoebe tries to help her relax, but with minimal success. After breaking down at the post office - the Civil War videos she'd ordered for Richard came in - her father comes to comfort her.

At Rachel's request, Ross tells her one of his sexual fantasies - the scene from Return of the Jedi, where Princess Leia is in the gold bikini. He then gets upset when he finds out Rachel told Phoebe about the fantasy. Rachel tells Ross that girls tell each other everything, and she's surprised that guys don't do the same. He and Chandler decide to try it - but Chandler overshares when he reveals that sometimes he sees his mother's face when he's with a woman.

Joey is upset to learn that Chandler has gotten back together with Janice - and has no intention of breaking up with her this time. Janice decides what Joey needs to get over his intense dislike of her is some bonding time, so she plans a "Day of Fun" for the two of them. At the end of the day, Joey still can't stand Janice - but he pretends to like her for Chandler's sake.

At the end of the episode, Rachel borrows a gold bikini outfit much like Princess Leia's to fulfill Ross's fantasy - but, thanks to Chandler, Ross can't stop picturing his mother. "I hate Chandler; the bastard ruined my life," Ross says.

When Joey goes on "Joey and Janice's Day of Fun" they both go to a Mets game indicating he is a fan of the Mets. In "The One With The Fertility Test" Joey's new girlfriend Charlie want to go to the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art). Joey, misunderstanding her, replies "Okay, let me stop you right there, The Mets suck, ok? You wanna see the Yankees?".
