[edit] Plot

Rachel reveals that she had a sex dream involving Chandler. This, of course, upsets Ross. Upsetting him even further is the next dream she has, presumably about a threesome involving Rachel, Chandler, and Joey.

Phoebe is looking for some short-term work, because she's lost clients - "I taught this massage-yourself-at-home workshop, and they are," she explains. Chandler mentions that his secretary is going to be out for two weeks, and agrees to let Phoebe come work for him. Things don't go well - Phoebe wants to hang out with Chandler rather than actually work. She then reveals to Chandler that his co-workers hate him, because of his recent promotion. They even make fun of his manner of speech - namely, his tendency to put emphasis on the wrong words (for example: "Could that report BE any later?"). This prompts teasing from Ross and Joey, and he unwittingly responds, "That is so NOT true!". He feels even worse when the guys from work don't invite him to a party - instead inviting Phoebe. She brings him to the party anyway, so he can try to make amends, but they just look at it as an attempt to fit in and continue to shun him.

Monica starts dating Ethan, a senior in college. She'd told him she was 22, so he would agree to go out with her. He reveals he's a virgin, and they have sex. After the deed, Monica reveals she's older than what she originally said; he reveals he's actually younger. He is a senior - in high school. Monica ends the relationship, because "it's icky."

Ross gets a beeper, so Carol can page him when she goes into labor. However, his pager number is one digit off the number for an escort service, so he's constantly barraged with false alarms. He walks in on Rachel sleeping on the couch, clearly (and finally) having a sex dream about Ross, when his pager goes off. This time, it's the real thing - Carol's finally gone into labor. The end of the episode is spent with Ross trying to herd everyone into cabs. Rachel gets dressed up - there might be doctors there, - Joey grabs a sandwich, and Monica is emotional over becoming an aunt.

[edit] Trivia

  • Ross's pager number is 55-JIMBO. The number for the escort service is 55-JUMBO.
  • To mock Ethan's age, Joey mentions Power Rangers. Then Joey, Ross and Chandler do an "It's morphin time!" scene. Joey calls "Stegosaurus" - there wasn't (nor has there ever been) a Power Ranger with the call of "Stegosaurus".
