[edit] Plot

Ross and Monica's elderly Aunt Silvia passes away. Neither of them are really that shaken up about it - as Monica put it, she was a "cruel, cranky old bitch". Monica is doubly ecstatic, because Aunt Silvia had a gorgeous dollhouse Monica loved - and has now inherited. Phoebe reveals that she'd never had a dollhouse growing up - just a barrel. Monica says she'll let Phoebe play in the dollhouse with her. However, when Phoebe shows up to play with a big dog, a plastic dinosaur and a Kleenex (for the "ghost in the attic"), Monica decides that Phoebe can't play anymore.

Undaunted, Phoebe builds her own dollhouse out of cardboard. It's considerably cooler than Monica's - a slide instead of stairs, a Licorice Room (where you can eat the furniture), and an Aroma Room where you can light incense. Monica is jealous of Phoebe's house getting more attention than hers. Later, Phoebe's house catches fire, and Monica seems to have had a hand in the disaster. But Ross believes that the fire might have been caused from the aroma room in the dollhouse.

Chandler takes Rachel back to Bloomingdale's after they met for lunch. He catches the interest of Rachel's boss, Joanna, who insists Rachel set her up with him. They go out on a date. Joanna has a great time but Chandler doesn't because he thinks she's a "big, dull dud." He ends the date by saying he'll call her, even though he has no intention of doing so. Joanna, waiting for Chandler to call, starts driving Rachel crazy - at one point even blaming Rachel for Chandler not having called (and threatening to fire her if it was her doing). Rachel convinces Chandler to take her out again, which he begrudgingly does. After saying yet again he'll call her, Rachel makes him tell Joanna the truth.

Joey, still struggling with his feelings for co-star Kate, starts dating her understudy Lauren in order to get back at her. Kate insults Joey for choosing to out with Lauren; in turn, Joey insults the director of the play (whom Kate is dating). Kate and Joey stay late after one rehearsal to discuss how to play their roles - and wind up sleeping together. Joey's thrilled, until he learns that the encounter meant nothing to Kate - she was just doing it to "get into character." An upset Joey then starts calling all the women he'd slept with and never called back.
