[edit] Plot

Monica has to learn to roller-skate for her job - "Some idiot customer" (who turns out to be Phoebe) put a note in the suggestion box that said the staff at the diner should be on skates. While practicing, Monica crashes into Rachel.

Ross has an opportunity to be on The Discovery Channel, as part of a discussion panel on newly-found fossils. He ends up skipping it, however, when Rachel's injuries are worse than she thought and he takes her to the hospital. After finding out what he'd sacrificed to take her to the hospital, Rachel is touched.

Joey sees a news report about people that buy baby chicks for their kids as Easter presents, but then can't take care of them. He misunderstands, however, and goes out to buy one for Chandler. It doesn't take long for their ineptitude to show - they argue like the parents of a newborn, and at one point get the chick stuck in the VCR. Deciding they're not ready for such a big responsibility, Chandler agrees to return the chick. However, when he gets there he finds that not only will they not refund the money, if they don't find a home for the chick (which Chandler names Yasmine, after Yasmine Bleeth), they'll kill it. This somehow convinces Chandler to buy a duck as well. But now their troubles have doubled. At one point Chandler punishes the duck for trying to eat the chick by sending him out to the hall. (see The Chick and the Duck)

Meanwhile, Pete announces that he's bought a restaurant and wants Monica to be the head chef. Monica considers turning him down, because she's still not attracted to him. Pete then invents a story about a woman he met on a business trip, so Monica will accept the position. Phoebe sees through his ruse, but promises not to tell Monica. When Monica finds out the truth, she says she can't take the job - and maybe they should see other people. Pete gives her a kiss goodbye...and she finally feels it, deciding to stay with him after all.
