Phoebe dates a guy who works for Monica, which causes a problem when Phoebe wants to dump him on the same day Monica plans to fire him. Ross discovers that one of Chandler's co-workers has been calling him Toby for five years. He then discovers that Chandler's middle name is Muriel. Later, Chandler sabotages the guy's promotion.

Joey sets Rachel up on a date with one of his co-stars. Ross worries about this and the fact that he doesn't see a future with Rachel anymore; she later feels the exact opposite as she watches Ross flirt with a woman at Central Perk.
