[edit] Plot

Phoebe asks Monica and Chandler what they want for an engagement present, and Monica requests Phoebe's grandmother's cookie recipe, because she wants to make the best cookies ever for her children. Unfortunately, Phoebe discovers that the cookie recipe was destroyed in the recent fire in her apartment. She offers Monica a frozen cookie of the last batch she made with that recipe instead.

Undeterred, Monica decides to dissect the cookie to try and acertain its ingredients. She enlists Phoebe and Ross's help, making up several batches to try and match the original. Joey eats the original cookie, leaving them with nothing. Frustrated, Monica asks Phoebe if there are any other relatives who might know the recipe, and it transpires that they are actually Nestle Tollhouse cookies.

Monica and Ross's dad asks Chandler to play racquetball with him. Chandler is eager for the chance to bond with his future father-in-law, but accidentally sits on Jack's lap in the steam room. Concerned that Jack will bring up the story at every possible opportunity in the future, Chandler arranges another outing. Unfortunately, he misunderstands the rooms and neglects to put trunks on in the jacuzzi room.

Rachel offers to help Joey to use his new boat, the Mr. Beaumont. However, things get a little tense when it turns out Joey is a slow learner and Rachel is not the most patient teacher. Eventually, they simply sit in the marina and drink beer, which Rachel is surprised to discover is far more enjoyable.

[edit] Quotes

  • Rachel: Oh my god, I'm my father. I've been trying so hard not to turn into my mother, I did not see this coming.
  • Chandler: I'm going to sort this out with him face-to-face. And by face, I do not mean his lap. And by face, I do not mean my ass.
