Joey auditions for a part in a new sitcom "Mac and CHEESE" and receives a call-back, but Chandler fails to pass on the message to Joey that the time has been changed. Later on, Chandler takes another call, and this time passes the message onto Joey who gets the part. Ross and Phoebe help Joey read lines, and become convinced that they are great actors.

Episode mainly consists of flashbacks, including: Joey's acting, everybody's pressure at work, Chandler's mistakes, Joey's mistakes, friends fighting and making up, and Joey and Chandler hugging.
