[edit] Plot
Joey is up for a role in a movie directed by Warren Beatty. The role calls for him to kiss another man - something Joey has trouble doing. He tries to get Ross and Chandler to help him, but with little success - Ross says Joey can kiss him "over my dead body," and Chandler says he'll be using Ross's body "as a shield."
Chandler has met a woman online - they chat late into the night. Things go well until she reveals that she's married. At Phoebe's urging, Chandler decides to look past that. They agree to meet in person - and his online girlfriend turns out to be Janice.
Ross finally relents and agrees to help Joey prepare for his audition - by surprising him with a kiss. Joey then reveals that they'd already picked someone else for the role - but that Ross is a good kisser.
Rachel is readying to be her friend Mindy's maid of honor. As if it's not bad enough having to face her ex-fiance and his family, Mindy picked out hideous pink dresses for the bridesmaids to wear. After spending the ceremony with her dress tucked into her underwear, Rachel spends most of the reception talking to people who keep saying it's good to see her "up and about" again. When confronted, Mindy reveals that Barry's parents told people Rachel contracted syphilis and became insane. After listening to Rachel be the brunt of the best man's jokes, Ross defends her - with little success.
Monica and Richard have a talk, and realise they want different things in life. Monica wants to have children of her own, but Richard doesn't want to have any more kids. Later, Richard says he'll have kids with her if that's what Monica wants, but she tells him that she can't have kids with someone who doesn't really want them, and they agree to part ways.
[edit] Production
The sub-plot where Joey has to kiss a man was originally intended to be a story about Joey auditioning for the role of an uncircumcised man. The rest of the group then came up with various ways of making him look the part. The story was changed on the advice of network censors, who thought it was tasteless but it was later used in "The One with Ross and Monica's Cousin".[1]
