[edit] Plot
Whilst he is on the set of Mac and Cheese, Joey meets the man who created and will be controlling 'Cheese'. However, when Joey first sees him, Joey thinks he is the robot and starts touching him and when he does see the robot, he laughs at it and says that he thought 'it would be a really cool robot, like the Terminator' It soon becomes clear that the creator doesn't like Joey. Later, he gets a call from his agent, Estelle, saying that she got him an audition for the lead part in a new T.V series but the part isn't certain because the current lead hasn't actually been fired yet. She then tells him that the show is Mac and Cheese, inadvertently telling Joey that he might be fired. He finds out that the creator of Cheese is irreplaceable and can get Joey fired so Monica advises him to 'kiss some serious robot ass.' but his attempts to suck up to the creator of Cheese are unsuccessful until he says that Joey can keep his job if Joey helps him to chat up a woman in the show that he has a crush on. Joey helps him and his job is safe.
Meanwhile, Ross's girlfriend, Elizabeth, arranges for him to meet her father, Paul Stevens (played by Bruce Willis) at the coffee house and Ross asks for the others to be there so that they can talk to Paul and make Ross look good. When Paul arrives, he takes an immediate dislike to Ross, mostly because Ross is so much older than Elizabeth, and Ross's, and everyone else's, attempts to win him round don't work. Later on, when Rachel is in the coffee house, Paul comes in looking for his keys and after he's found them, he gets talking to Rachel who quite brazenly starts flirting with him and Ross then walks in on them kissing in Joey's apartment. When Paul leaves, Ross says he thinks the idea of Rachel and his girlfriend's father being together is weird but Rachel convinces him that it's a good thing because she 'has the inside track' and arranges a double date between Ross and Elizabeth and Rachel and Paul, which goes ok until Rachel accidentally starts revealing bad things about Ross. However, by the end, Ross and Paul have made an uneasy truce.
Finally, Phoebe starts writing a story which is 'about relationships and the traps and the pitfalls and what not to do' and bases it on Monica and Chandler but with the names Martha and Chester, much to Monica and Chandler's annoyance.
