[edit] Plot

Rachel has just gone into labor. Ross is thrilled when he manages to get her to the hospital in seven minutes, but crushed when he finds out that all the others managed to make it there before them. Rachel is forced to go into a semi-private room, since all the private rooms are occupied.

The first couple to share the room are having their third child, and are determined to share every single moment of the experience, to Rachel and Ross's horror.

Ross's mother turns up at the hospital and gives him her mother's engagement ring, telling him to propose to Rachel before the birth. Ross tells the others about it, expecting them to be shocked, but they ask him why he isn't with Rachel.

The second couple constantly argue with each other, forcing Ross to close the curtain. The husband, however, peeks around the curtain to look at Rachel. When Ross tells him to stop looking, the wife starts on Ross. The third couple enter, and Rachel gets Ross to close the curtains after discovering that the woman has less painful contractions than she does. The fourth doesn't even make it into the room before she's wheeled off to the delivery room, and the fifth woman is Janice, complete with almost-entirely deaf husband Sid.

Monica decides to play a joke on Chandler for Phoebe, telling him that she wants to start a family right away. To her shock, Chandler agrees and tells her he wants to have children with her too. She resorts to telling Joey that she wants to have his baby instead, and gets the high-pitched reaction that she wanted.

Monica and Chandler start trying to have a baby in the hospital.

Phoebe meets a cute guy with a broken leg. She tracks down his room and enlists Joey to pretend to be Dr Drake Ramoray, so he can screen the guy (Clifford) for her.

[edit] Quotes

Ross: (his mother shows him an engagement ring) Ma, you're asking me to marry you?

Judy: Just think about it... If you don't, I'll talk more about humping.
Ross: Gimme that.

Phoebe: (about how she broke her leg) Let's just say there was a typographical error in a sex manual.
