Phoebe and new roommate Rachel are recording a new announcement on their answering machine. They argue over "all the good words." Rachel then decides that the two should go running as their "first roommate-bonding thing", at which point Phoebe leaves the entire outgoing announcement.

[edit] Plot

Since Chandler has moved out, Joey has found a new roommate - Australian dancer Janine Le Croix, played by supermodel Elle Macpherson. Joey's only interview question was revealed to be "When can you move in?"

At the park, Phoebe runs by flailing her arms about wildly and screaming. Embarrassed Rachel later pretends to be hurt in order to avoid running again with Phoebe. She is caught in the lie when Phoebe follows her to the park and confronts her in an early morning solo run. Phoebe tells Rachel that she runs as she did when she was a child and Rachel is more uptight. Towards the end of the episode, Rachel tries running like Phoebe and likes it. After passing Phoebe she runs in the opposite direction only to crash into a policeman and his horse.

After finally unpacking, Chandler decides to clean the apartment and inadvertently rearranges everything. Ross reminds Chandler that Monica is overly obsessive and "really weird" about someone moving "her stuff." Chandler, fearing Monica's wrath, enlists the help of Ross to put things right and appears to have succeeded. However, when Monica arrives home, she immediately questions why "everything's different." Pointing out "the end table is wrong, the couch looks bizarre and don't even get me started on the refrigerator magnets."

Joey fears Janine will become romantically attracted to him, which would lead to an awkward living situation. He asks Chandler and Ross for their help since they are good at "repelling women." It is revealed that while Joey is attracted to Janine, she does not have the same feelings for him. He explains that it's only because he's trying to repel her. He tries his pick-up line, "How you doin?" to which Janine replies "I'm O.K."
