The One Where Chandler Takes a Bath

"The One Where Chandler Takes a Bath" is the thirteenth episode of the eight season of Friends.

Joey is going crazy over his newfound affection for Rachel. He tries to talk to Chandler and then Monica about his feelings, but both times he can't get his message across. Chandler and Monica compare the discussions and come to the conclusion that Joey has feelings for Phoebe. Monica tells Phoebe who confronts Joey about his feelings and discovers that the feelings are actually for Rachel, not her. Phoebe tries to calm Joey down by telling him it is "just a crush", but that doesn't help. By the end of the episode everyone but Ross and Rachel know about Joey's feelings for Rachel.[1]

Monica forces Chandler to take a bath, complete with candles, music, bath salts, bubble bath, and a plastic navy boat (to make it "more masculine"). Chandler ends up loving the bath and becomes addicted to them. He draws his own bath with disastorous results, so he starts to steal Monica's baths when she draws them. Monica gets upset at Chandler's bath behavior and begins to lecture him when all of the other four friends enter the bathroom. In the end, you see Chandler and Monica sharing a bath together to make them both happy.

Ross and Rachel are trying to figure out what to name their child. Both come up with names the other dislikes and can not settle on a good name for either a boy or a girl. When they go see their doctor, they opt not to learn the sex of their child. In the office Ross catches Rachel sneaking a peek in the folder which contains the sex of the baby and assumes she knows the sex of their baby, which Rachel didn't and tells him so. Ross doesn't believe her and phones up the doctor the next day and finds out himself and tells Rachel, who this news is new to, that they are going to have a baby girl.[2]
