The Ocean Hunter is a 1998 shooter arcade game developed and published by SEGA Enterprises Ltd.

The Ocean Hunter is played by using two mounted turret-like guns on the arcade cabinet. The game is capable of being played with either one or two people simultaniously. You take the role of an underwater adventurer searching for hidden treasure deep beneath the surface. You go throughout the game in a set path, shooting at various ocean life along the way. The game is played progressing through various levels, each with its own design and layout. Upon reaching the end of the level you encounter the boss for that level. The bosses are usually mythical or a large version of an actual sea creature.
The bosses are:
Kraken: A reddish-pink Giant Pacific Octopus.
Leviathan: A giant, greyish-blue Megalodon (an extinct species of shark).
Charybdis: A giant, khaki-coloured deep sea anglerfish.
Ahuizotl: A green Elasmosaurus (an extinct species of prehistoric marine reptile).
Karkinos: An orange-red Giant Japanese Spider Crab.
Midgardsorm: An unidentified species of giant serpent.
Rahab: A tall, three-eyed humanoid resembling a mutant merman or a sea dragon.

The Ocean Hunter runs on SEGA Model 3 hardware.

The game is known to be very rare. There are currently very few private collectors or large distrubutors that have an Ocean Hunter machine in their collection. Also in the last year there have only been one or two listings of this specific game on the well known online auction, eBay.
