The Northern Light (college newspaper)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Northern Light is the student produced newspaper at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The Northern Light began publication in September 1988, after the University of Alaska Anchorage and Anchorage Community College merged. The paper is not directly tied to any class at the college, but one must be a student to work on the paper.
The Northern Light has a circulation of 5,000 copies a week during school semesters and is financed by student fees and advertising.
The staff has won state and national awards[citation needed] for writing and reporting, being named second best weekly newspaper in the state of Alaska by the Alaska Press Club.[1]
