Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

After the earthquake shakes up Orange County, the gang struggles to make sure everyone is okay. Although Sandy has told him to stay where he is, Seth will do whatever it takes to be with Ryan and Taylor. And when they finally are reunited, Seth learns what it is really like to be a brother. When Summer and Taylor can’t find Pancakes, Taylor finds out that family bonds are greater than she thinks. Meanwhile, the Coopers are stuck in the ice cream shop until they are saved by the only man in Newport for Julie Cooper. However, like so much in Newport, things aren’t what they seem when the family returns to the Cohen house.

[edit] Trivia

  • Ryan receives a blood transfusion from Seth - After living with the Cohens for 4 years, Ryan now has Cohen-blood running through his veins.
  • The title comes from the song, "Night Moves" by Bob Seger.
  • When Seth offers the Range Rover to the homeless guy in exchange for the caddy, he mentions that the axle might be broken. In The Escape, when the four make their trip to Mexico, the axle also breaks and they have to spend the night in a shabby motel.
  • In this episode we find out that Julie sang the song "The Night Moves" to Kailin when she was a kid. In the season one episode, The Heartbreak, the song is playing in the background when Julie and Luke start their fling. The song was also used in The Proposal heared blasting from a drunk Luke's truck before he crashed his truck.
  • "91" was shown on the birthday cake (with a 9 candles and a 1 candle) in the Ice Cream shop when Julie and Kaitlin were singing "Night Moves." This is in reference to the episode number. The Night Moves is the 91st episode of The O.C.
  • When the Cohens return to their house after the earthquake, the exterior of the house was from season one, because Sandy's BMW is in the driveway which he hasn't driven since season one.
  • Seth makes a remark about how "Maybe if we turned this into a body-switch comedy, we could have squeezed two or three more years out of this." This is a reference to the cancellation of The O.C.
  • Ryan and Seth have O- blood type.
  • The license plate number on the Range Rover is 3PCI249.
  • This is the second time this season that Ryan has been in a hospital bed.
