[edit] Synopsis
Gus Griswald, a nervous transfer student, has his first day at school, where he meets TJ and the gang. King Bob declares that Gus is to be known as "the new kid" from now on, not by his real name. TJ creates a plan to make Gus welcome, but can't prevail completely over King Bob's ruling.
When the other kids continue to treat Gus badly, he tells Bob he does not want to be classified as the New Kid any more. To his surprise, it's as simple as that, and he is now supposedly welcome. In practice, he remains something of an outsider, as can be seen in episodes such as Jinxed, where Gus fails to remember the laws of Third Street School, and Call Me Guy where he discovers that people still react to his appearance and reputation.
