[edit] Plot summary
Pippi Longstocking, a girl with super-strength and other powers, and her widower father, Efraim Longstocking, are heading to the Kurre Kurre Islands on their schooner, Hoptoad. When separated by a storm, Pippi along with her horse, Alfonso, and her monkey, Mr. Neilson, follow the gulf stream to the mansion Villa Villekulla, which is located in the fictional town of Rocksby, located somewhere along the eastern seaboard of the United States. Pippi later befriends her next-door neighbors, Tommy and Annika Settigren (David Seaman, Jr. and Cory Crow). The trio find themselves in various situations such as running away from home on a homemade Autogyro, flying a motorcycle through the air, and showering the local orphans with ice cream and candy. Pippi is threatened by various adults: Miss Bannister (Eileen Brennan), the county social worker; Tommy and Annika's father (Dennis Dugan), a city official; and by the real estate developer, Dan Blackhart (George DiCenzo) who wants to seize Pippi's home. Eventually, Pippi's father finds her and returns as the King of the Kurre Kurre Islanders. Pippi is now a princess and almost leaves with her father, but changes her mind.
