TV.com summary

The Moxy Show was a 3-D animated television show about the adventures of a 3-D animated dog named Moxy and his sidekick, Flea. The series was arguably Cartoon Network's first ever original series. The show began in 1994, and consisted primarily of classic cartoons which were padded by short bumpers featuring Moxy and Flea. Since it was not a full-length series, but instead a method for repackaging old material, some do not consider it Cartoon Network's first original series and instead give that distinction to Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

In its natal year it was called The Moxy Pirate Show and ran for 60 minutes This was produced and animated by the Hanna Barbera animation studio. In 1995, it was renamed The Moxy Show but still kept its 60 minute format. In 1998, the show was renamed The Moxy & Flea Show. The show was also cut down from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, which eliminated the 3-D effects the show had. This was considered by many to be the show's death blow. On April 1, 2000 the show was removed from Cartoon Network entirely. This was the same day that many classic Hanna Barbera shows were removed from Cartoon Network, such as Josie and the Pussycats, Top Cat, and Wacky Races. These series were drafted to Cartoon Network's sister channel, Boomerang leaving only the most popular classic Hanna Barbera cartoons such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo, and Tom & Jerry.
