The Mountain Road

The Mountain Road is a 1960 war film starring James Stewart and directed by Daniel Mann. Based on a book by Theodore White, the film follows the attempts of a U.S. Army major to destroy bridges and roads which are to be used by the Japanese during World War II. Both the book and film also explore the army's irresponsibility, especially toward their Chinese allies and hosts.
