The Most Dangerous Game is a 1964 thriller by the British author Gavin Lyall. A British charter pilot living in Finland flies a wealthy American hunter into a prohibited part of Finland in order to hunt bear and subsequently becomes mixed up in a spy adventure involving lost Tsarist treasure. The plot was totally different from the earlier and arguably more famous The Most Dangerous Game short story about hunting humans as a sport.
Some sources say that Lyall won the Crime Writers Association Silver Dagger for The Most Dangerous Game as the runner-up for the best thriller of 1964.
