The Mommies

The Mommies is the name of an American female comedy duo whose real-life tales of suburban life, domestication, family, marriage and other odds and ends, would serve as their comedic trademark.
The duo are Marilyn Kentz and Caryl Kristensen, who met as neighbors in Petaluma, California in the late 1980s. It was through their family and friends that they should team up because they had a knack for comedy, which would pay off in a big way. Today they still do stand up as a duo.
It would also get the attention of NBC, who saw potential in this team after one of the executives caught a performance of them on a TV show and eventually signed them to a TV deal.
In the 1990s they had two TV programs.

In 1993 they landed their first major starring role in The Mommies a series loosely based on their real-life persona as suburban neighbors and their families in Petaluma, California. The series ran for two seasons with only 38 episodes. It was produced by Paramount Television.
[edit] Caryl & Marilyn: Real Friends
In 1996 the duo returned to TV with a daytime talk show called Caryl & Marilyn: Real Friends. The show was produced by Viacom and aired on ABC for one year before being replaced by The View in 1997.

In addition to acting and writing, they are also involved with various causes from breast cancer awareness to parental rights.
They also produced and provided the voices for the 2000 animated TV series The Sac.
The duo also appeared in TV commercials for Palmolive liquid dish detergent.
