The Memory of Running is an announced drama expected to be released in 2007 based off the same-titled book by Ron McLarty. Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón is rumored to direct this film.[1]

The story follows an obese Vietnam vet who, still reeling from the death of his parents, finds out his sister has died in Los Angeles. He sets out on a cross-country trip on his bicycle in a bid to reclaim her body.

  • The book on which this film is based, was helped into publication by author Stephen King, who first wrote about the book in his column for Entertainment Weekly in 2003.
