The Manvils are a Canadian indie rock band from Vancouver. The band, consisting of singer, songwriter and guitarist Mikey Manville, lead guitarist Mark Parry, bassist Greg Buhr and drummer Andy Mac, formed in 2004.
The band play a brand of rock music strongly influenced by 1960s British Rock music styles. Their debut album "Buried Love" is influenced more by 60s psychedelic music. They have played with many bands in their short career thus far including Stereophonics, The Bellrays, Horrorpops, They Might Be Giants, The High Dials, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dandy Warhols, Darediablo, SuicideGirls etc.
In May of 2005 having only been together for 6 months, The Manvils opened for the UK based band Stereophonics to a sold out crowd in Vancouver. Stereophonics expressed great interest in taking the band on the road with them in the future and lead guitarist Mark Parry was even invited by Kelly Jones to join them as second guitarist for their world tour.
The bands live show is known to be unpredictable, intense and an unrivaled experience which draws more and more attention and more fans each time they play.
Their music has been featured in films and television including the award winning CBC Television documentary series "Moscow Freestyle" and they are also featured performing in a 2007 Budweiser Beer commercial.
The band appeared on the front page of the popular Canadian fashion/Music magazine ION in the April 2006 edition and guitarist Mark Parry was featured in the May 2006 edition.
In September of 2006, the band were awarded the "Best Vancouver Band 2006" by The Georgia Straight Newspaper.
