'The Magnificents formed while they were still at Edinburgh College of Art, although they soon gave up on the ways of academia when they discovered the joys of collecting synths, playing upside-down guitars, berating soundmen and putting on the sort of legendary small-scale shows that every member of their growing cult following now wants to claim they were at. Mixing the raw punk power of the Stooges with the looping proto-dance floor boffinry of Kraftwerk, they are test pilots for a new sound that should rightfully see them installed as the J&MC or ABBA for the electronic generation'.[1]
- The band have toured extensively with the likes of Mogwai, The Beta Band, Stereolab and Trans-Am.
- They have recently finished recording an EP and an Album in Brighton, Glasgow and Edinburgh which are due for release Spring 2007.
