From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Magic Drum and Bugle Corps are an inactive Division I drum and bugle corps based in Orlando, Florida and founded in 1989, and are a member corps of Drum Corps International. Previously known as the Magic of Orlando, and during a financially rough period in 2001-2002 when performing strictly as an exhibition corps, as the Micro Magic, the Magic is a recurring DCI finalist corps. The corps programs have often been theatrical, and have drawn upon the music of Disney's Fantasia and Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as that of Cirque du Soleil.
The Magic are six time DCI Division I finalists, having placed highest at 8th in 1996. They are also one time Division II champions, finishing first in 2002 with a score of 99.05 (the corps also competed in Division I finals that season and placed 11th).
The Magic announced in October, 2006 that they would not be fielding a corps for the 2007 season.
The corps director is Bruce Ziegler.
