The Loin's Mouth (as in the San Francisco Tender"loin") is a semi-quarterly, Tenderloin/Downtown-based publication about life in the San Francisco Tenderloin and Tenderloin Heights area. It was first conceived of by its Editor, Rachel M., in the spring of 2006 and released its first issue in June of the same year. Issues are generally humorous and typically revolve around a central theme, such as the most recent issue titled "Love in the Loin" released in February 2007. Content ranges from fake news stories to editorial pieces to short stories with such titles as "One Night Stand," "Friday Night Fights," and "I, Drunkard." Contributers vary dramatically in age, background, and education, and Maxon Crumb (brother of R. Crumb) has submitted several illustrations.

The Loin's Mouth has a circulation of approximately 6,000 and is distributed free-of-charge in bars, cafes, and bookstores in the Tenderloin, SOMA, the Mission, and on Polk Street as well as at City Lights Bookstore in North Beach and Amoeba Records in the Upper Haight.
