The Little Belowski

The Little Belowski (Japanese: 脱力！ もけもけデュエル, Exhaustion! Mokemoke Duel) is the 23rd episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX). It was first broadcast in Japan on March 9, 2005.

Unwilling to let Jaden duel in the School Duel, Crowler lets out Belowski, a top student who was sealed under Duel Academy for being too dangerous. Jaden and Belowski duel, and Belowski calls forth his Mokey Mokey, a too-cute monster with hypnotic powers that begin to put everyone to sleep.

In the U.S. television series, Belowski seems to be a parody of the archetypical "stoner" present throughout contemporary American culture. Belowski's speech is very suggestive of the Hollywood stereotypical Southern-California "surfer dudes", like Jeff Spicoli, who all frequently use slang like "bummer", "far-out", "righteous", "dude", "chill" and so forth. He has unwashed features, ripped clothing, and sits around all day listening to his boom box and "just chilling". When Belowski is allowed to come outside to duel Jaden, he sits on the roof fantasizing about the clouds resembling duel monsters. In addition, Belowski's "theme-song" appears to be a slightly altered sample of Steve Miller Band's The Joker.
