The Light Brigade

The Light Brigade [1]is a post-punk rock band based in London, England. The five-piece group, formed in 2004, draws inspiration from bands such as the Cars, the Police, the Zombies, and Smashing Pumpkins. The group released their first four-track CD 'The Disco Dancing EP' in 2005. The EP was favorably reviewed by a number of university publications and music websites. The Oxford Cherwell [2]writes “lead singer Rory Thomas is the band’s strongest asset, carefully balancing power and eloquence.” The website Candy Factory Lines called the EP “neon-glow dance music.” Russel’s Reviews [3]described the title track of the EP as a song that has “all the makings of an indie disco classic.” Oxford University arts magazine Alter Ego claims “the Light Brigade ooze sophistication.”

The forthcoming album "An Evening with the Light Brigade" is planned to be released during the summer of 2006, during which the Light Brigade will be gigging in London, Cambridge, Oxford, and Wales.
