The Life of Ian Fleming

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Life of Ian Fleming is a biography on Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, among others. The biography was written by his assistant at the London Sunday Times, John Pearson in 1966. Pearson would later go on to write the official fictional-biography James Bond: The Authorised Biography of 007 in 1973. The Life of Ian Fleming was one of the first biographies done on Ian Fleming and is considered a collectible by many James Bond fans since Pearson would become the third official James Bond author.

Future editions of the biography were somewhat altered after film producer Kevin McClory made allegations that certain parts of the biography were untrue when regarding the novel and film rights to Thunderball.

The 1967 American paperback edition was retitled, Alias James Bond — The Life Of Ian Fleming, no other edition has this title.
