The Legacy (1978 film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Legacy is a 102-minute movie, released in 1978, based largely on a script by Jimmy Sangster. Richard Marquand directed and Katharine Ross and Sam Elliott headed the cast.
Ross and Elliott play an American couple lured to England with the vague promise of a lucrative job which seems to involve interior decorating. A road accident brings them to the country estate of the ailing John Standing who is also hosting a variety of wealthy houseguests. Mysterious, sometimes fatal events then begin to occur, leading Ross and Elliott to believe they've ventured into a world of sorcery and black magic.
A highpoint of the proceedings comes when a naked Sam Elliott passes by the camera before turning, walking across a bathroom, and stepping into a shower. The full-length but rear-view nudity displayed in this scene earned a favorable mention in "The Bare Facts," but it seems to serve no plot purpose whatsoever.
