The Left Banke Too was the second studio LP by the 1960s baroque rock band. It has a curious history. The original five-piece unit was now whittled down to a trio, thanks to the departure of Michael Brown and Rick Brand. Released exactly two years after the first album, half of the tracks on it were released during the intervening period. The oldest track, Desiree was released as a single in the Autumn of 1967 and just barely scraped into the charts at #98. The next single, Dark Is The Bark b/w My Friend Today was released in the summer of 1968, followed closely by Goodbye Holly b/w Sing Little Bird Sing. Neither of them charted. When the album was finally released in February of 1969, the single that accompanied it was Bryant Hotel b/w Nice To See You. It fared no better than the previous two. With no real hits, naturally the album didn't sell well, but it is highly regarded today as a fine example of baroque psychedelic pop.

[edit] Miscellanea

Strangely enough, a pre-Aerosmith Steven Tyler contributed backing vocals to several songs on the LP (Nice to See You, Give the Man a Hand, and Dark is the Bark).
