The Last Knights is a web-based MMORPG game set in the 1700s created and operated by Zygomatic. At the beginning of the year, it announced the start of an new medieval server. Players must join a country and climb up the military ranks from scratch, hiring units, start wars, attack cities and train. Currently there are two variants: For King and Country and Medieval TLK

[edit] History of The Last Knights

The game began at the start of 2004 with the creation of the first and original TLK server, hosting only West European countries. By the next age, the realm expanded towards the entire European continent and by Age 3, the entire world. In 2006, TLK split into two different servers, Pro and Fun. Fun server being the place for new players to start off and for pro players to experiment with their strategies. A major change occurred in August of 2006, Zygomatic announced the opening of the new server, For King and Country to continue the end of the pro server, a entirely new perspective was brought into the game, navy. Fun server was soon ended and made the way for the medieval TLK to take over, set in the medieval time period and offers only Europe and Northern Africa.

[edit] Gameplay of For King and Country

For King and Country is a time-based game in which players play as a commander in the military. He/She hires units and rise through the many ranks in the military, making his/her country strong. Countries then attack each other in order to achieve one common goal, world domination. Currently the game is in its 9th age. with each age generally lasting from 20 to 30 days.

In both KnC and mTLK, terrain bonuses are implemented. Terrain plays a big role in army strengths and weaknesses separating many close PvP, training and Main vs Main battles. The terrains in place around the world for KnC are Desert, Forest, Jungle, Mountains, Plains and Savannah.

Both army and navy play great roles in a country's survival. The army conquers the necessary cities on land to keep the country alive and/or to eliminate another country. Units improve in skill and strength through gaining XP and passing through the leveling system.[1]

[edit] Gameplay of Medieval The Last Knights

This new server was officially open to public beta testing on the 1st of January 2007. Since the opening of the server, it has gone through many interface and system changes, one of the more recent and important one is the introduction of stages in unit leveling, another being the introduction of heroes. Similar to For King and Country, Medieval The Last Knights also implement a High Council, War Council system and Terrains. This server, as its name suggests, uses units only found in the medieval period, ranging from Crossbowman to Templar Knights.

• For King And Country has a greater variety of units than Medieval The Last Knights.

• Medieval The Last Knights has a staged leveling system while For King And Country does not.

• Medieval The Last Knights has Hero support while For King and Country does not

• Medieval The Last Knights units have 3 lives while For King and Country does not.

• Both servers implement High Council, Terrain and Headquarters.
