The Land Where a Hero Once Lived (Japanese: 英雄のいた国 - Eiyū no ita kuni) is episode 11 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Land of Waves manga arc.

While Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke train, Sakura watches over Tazuna. During a nice dinner, Sakura notices a man's face torn from a picture. The man's name was Kaiza, and he was what the country called a "hero". In a flashback, it is shown that he was a wandering fisherman who had rescued a bullied Inari from drowning. He became his stepfather. Although he saved the Land of Waves during a flood, Kaiza was unable to stop Gato who crucified him in front of all the citizens. This broke the spirits of everyone including Inari. Upon hearing this, Naruto declares that he will prove to Inari that there are still heroes in this world.

In the anime, Kaiza's arms were just broken, while in the manga, they were severed completely off.
