The Lab with Leo Laporte is a technology program hosted by Leo Laporte. It begins airing on G4techTV Canada and HOW TO Channel Australia April 23, 2007. The program is produced from Greedy Studios in Vancouver, Canada. It was spun off from its predecessor Call for Help.
November 25, 2006 Leo Laporte announced on his KFI radio show that production of Call for Help will be moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Rogers Communications Inc., the owner of G4techTV, have contracted Greedy Productions to produce the show. It was also announced on his radio show that when production is moved to Vancouver, the show will be renamed to The Lab with Leo Laporte, and will be produced in 16:9 High Definition. The core reason for choosing "The Lab" name over the original "Call for Help" was with the constraints of the branding contract. The "Call for Help" name is property of G4/Comcast and is licensed under agreement. By changing name, the affliation licensing agreement is no longer needed.
In a video posted on Leo Laporte's blog, he and the show's producer estimated that episodes would begin airing on April 23, 2007.[1]
