The King of the Kongo (1929) is a Mascot movie serial. It was the first serial with partial sound released by Mascot Pictures, although two versions were released: a "Part Talking" version (as opposed to "All-Talking" with complete sound) and a silent version intended for theatres not yet equipped for sound. As a result, it is also the first serial ever released with sound of any kind.
