Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

A sexton returned to his wife in deep distress. He told her that he had seen cats burying a coffin with a velvet pall and a golden coronet, and one had told him to tell Tom Tildrum Tim Toldrum's dead, but he had never heard of Tom Tildrum.

No sooner had he told his wife that then the tom-cat on their hearth jumped up and said if Tim Toldrum's dead, then he's the king of cats! He rushed up the chimney and was never seen again.
