The First Tooth Baby Ponies have been left in charge of the Newborn Twins, who misbehave terribly. To ease their nerves, they visit the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe for some ice cream, but to their horror the shopkeeper Scoops tells them there's none left. Scoops explains that Rocky Ripple, the ice cream manufacturer, is feuding with Fudgy McSwain, who makes toppings, and is refusing to make ice cream to drive his rival out of business. Baby Lickety-Split is determined to get the two to make up, figuring that the babies can use their cuteness as a weapon.

Rocky Ripple refuses to back down, saying that his newly-completed ice cream recipe has disappeared and that he blames Fudgy McSwain. The ponies convince Fudgy to apologise to Rocky, but just as the two make up, a malfunctioning machine fires ice cream straight into Fudgy's face. Fudgy takes control of a huge tank with chocolate-firing turrets and declares war on Rocky, who retaliates with his own ice cream war machine.

As an all-out ice cream war wages outside, the babies take the twins to hide in the Sweet Shoppe, reasoning that it's the one place that doesn't have any ice cream. Scoops reveals that she's been saving one last tub, feeding it to the Newborn Twins to calm them down. Milkweed gags and spits out a piece of paper - Rocky's missing recipe was in the ice cream. Baby North Star grabs it and flies into the battle, stopping right between the two tanks as they're about to destroy each other. The horrified confectioners stop their tanks and finally see that their feud is needless. Gratefully, they offer the baby ponies all the ice cream they want - but Baby Lickety-Split suddenly has cravings for a salad.

[edit] Notes

  • Includes song 'Babysitting'
  • Baby Lickety-Split has grown her first tooth to reflect her new toy. Like in season 1, she speaks very poorly, although she was fully fluent for her starring role in My Little Pony: The Movie.
  • Every character other than Baby Lickety-Split makes their first appearance here.
  • At one point during the ice cream battle, two Baby Lickety-Splits appear to be talking to each other.
  • The ponies go from a group of four to six, and back to four or less during the episode when they are meant to be the same group of four ponies. Even two when Baby Lickety-Split talks to herself... (maybe that's considered one).
  • This one part episode seems to have more mistakes then the ten part episode, The End of Flutter Valley.
  • The first tooth ponies that are randomly dispersed throughout the episode do not appear together until almost 9 minutes into the episode.
  • A non-existent white pony is seen talking to the other first tooth ponies.
  • Many of the ponies (Baby Northstar, the twins, etc)change color throughout the episode.
  • The French translation was titled La guerre de deux crèmes - 'The War of Two Creams'
