The Hunter's Moon is a novel by O.R. Melling about two teenagers and their journey through Ireland involving the fairy, published in 2005 in the United States.

Sixteen year old Gwen is traveling from the United States to Ireland to visit Findabhair, her cousin of the same age. Both share a love of fairy folklore and legends and decide to back pack Ireland in search of ancient magic. However, Findabhair is kidnaped by the fairy king while the pair camp out at the Hill of Tara and Gwen must overcome her fear and shyness to save her cousin.

This leads in her hitchhiking and walking over Ireland in attempts to follow the ever moving fairy tribe. Along the way Gwen encounters and befriends a female farmer, a leprechaun, a wise woman with knowledge in fairy history, her young and attractive grandson and a successful business man, all of whom aide Gwen on her quest.

"The Hunter's Moon" is followed by "The Summer King," published in 2006 in the United States. Both are in the "Chronicles of Fairy" series.

The final book in the trilogy, "The Light Bearer's Daughter" will be published in the United States in May, 2007. There is a fourth book that has already been published in Canada, called The Book of Dreams, dwelling on Canadian fairies as well as Irish ones.
