The Honor System

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Honor System are a punk band from Chicago, Illinois, which includes former members of another Chicago punk band, The Broadways. Many of the band's songs are critical of the behavior of American corporations and inequalities between social classes in American society. Their current lineup includes Chris Carr (bass), Robert DePaola (drums), Dan Hanaway (guitar, vocals) and Tyler Wiseman (guitar). Guitarist Nolan McGuire and bassist Tim McIlrath (later of Rise Against) were original members of the group.

Their first release was a three-song cassette released in 1999, featuring two songs ("Fool's Gold" and "Facelift") which would also appear on their 2000 debut album Single File, released on Asian Man Records. The cassette's third song, "Single File" remains otherwise unreleased.

Their second next, the six-song 100% Synthetic was released on Double Zero in 2002. The following year they released a three song CD which included the songs "Moving Day," "The Sound Of Sinking," and "American Math", followed three months later by the release of their second and final full-length recording, Rise And Run on Grey Flight Records.

Members of the band have gone on to create the band "Whale|Horse" who have released an EP entitled "Count the Electric Sheep".
