The Hollywood Game was a four-week primetime summer series. It consisted of two teams consisting of two contestants each, who competed in a quiz about movie and TV trivia. Each team played three rounds, choosing categories represented by the nine letters in "H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D."

[edit] The Main Game
[edit] Round 1
In Round 1, each team played 2 questions, worth $100 and $200. They viewed a film clip before hearing the question. If the team failed to answer correctly, their opponents got a chance to steal the money.
[edit] Round 2
Round 2 consisted of three questions in a chosen category, worth $200, $400, and $800.
[edit] Round 3
In Round 3 values were increased to $500, $1000 and $2,000.
[edit] Round 4: The Double Feature
Each team was allowed to wager, all, 1/2, or none of their accumulated bankroll on a predetermined category. The high-scoring team at the end of this round won the game and played the bonus round for $25,000 in cash.
[edit] Fast Picture Round
The winning team played the bonus round for a chance to win $25,000. Each player was given 15 seconds to identify nine pictures taken from a particular category (example: "men in uniform" or "Barbara Streisand films") of the players choice. Each correct answer lit up a letter in HOLLYWOOD and won $1,000; nine correct answers (thus lighting up the entire word) won $25,000.
