The Haverford School is a private, non-sectarian, all-boys collegiate preparatory day school, junior kindergarten through grade twelve.
It is a member of the Inter Academic Athletic Association, which also includes Episcopal Academy, Germantown Academy, Penn Charter, Malvern Preparatory School, and Chestnut Hill Academy.
The Haverford School is located in Haverford, Pennsylvania, nine miles outside of Philadelphia, and was founded in 1884 as The Haverford College Grammar School.
The Haverford School lacrosse team won the 2005 Pennsylvania State Lacrosse Association Championships, and its golf team has won Inter-Ac titles 6 times from 2000 to 2006.
The school a cappella group, The Haverford School Notables recently recorded their 6th album, which was released in June of 2006.[citation needed]

There is an annual sporting event called "EA Day" by Haverford Students each fall against rivals Episcopal Academy, who call the event "EA-Haverford Day". Sports included consist of Football, Soccer, Cross Country, and Water Polo. The winner of the majority of events is presented with a hand-knitted sweater, half of which consists of an Episcopal Academy sweater (navy with white stripes on the arm), the other of a Haverford sweater (maroon with gold stripes on the arm). 2006 will be the 97th meeting of the two teams.[citation needed]
