The Green Bastard is the 25th episode of the hit Canadian comedy mockumentary series Trailer Park Boys.
[edit] Plot
As Trailer Park Supervisor, Ricky plans to host a family fun day for everyone in the park, because Barb Lahey expects a deposit on his bid to buy Sunnyvale. As well as selling chicken and liquor, there are front-end loader rides for the kids, as well as a paintball area where people pay to shoot at Cory and Trevor. Bubbles, in particular, is delighted when he sees that the boys have constructed a wrestling ring and changes into the Green Bastard, a wrestler from "parts unknown." Meanwhile, even though he is no longer Park Supervisor, Jim Lahey is surprised to learn that he has won the Trailer Park Supervisor of the Year Award, which will be presented to him that day. Fearful of them finding out that Ricky is now supervisor, he decides to lie and pretend he still is in that position, believing that it will boost the park value and draw more people to live there. Barb, wanting to avoid a fight, tells Ricky to take the day off and enjoy himself, so as to keep with the charade.
The Canadian Association of Trailer Park Supervisors and Assistant Trailer Park Supervisors arrive at the park and present Lahey with the award. He and Randy, now wearing a shirt, take them on a tour of the park, but things go from bad to worse when Ricky, unaware of what is happening, introduces himself as park supervisor. To get them to leave, he starts urinating on their cars, and in retaliation, Lahey shuts down the wrestling ring, much to Bubbles/Green Bastard's fury. Ricky refuses to admit defeat, and Lahey then challenges him to a tag team wrestling match: a tag-team of him and Randy versus Ricky and Green Bastard. The winner will take home the award and title of Trailer Park Supervisor. Confident of victory, Ricky and Bubbles accept the challenge.
The fight starts off with Ricky making good work of Randy, but just as Bubbles enters the ring, Lahey and Randy find a way to cheat and come off as the victors. Furious over his loss, Ricky starts the bulldozer and trashes the unionists' cars. They strip Lahey of his trophy and revoke the park's membership in the union before leaving, and Barb is irate of Lahey. Even though he has "won" the match and his job back, it is a pyrrhic victory for him and Randy, both still have the trailer tent at the edge of the park to live in. Meanwhile, Julian consoles Ricky about the loss, saying that even though Jim Lahey is now back in power, they will have more time to focus on their dope-growing scheme.
[edit] Trivia
- This is the second time in the series that Randy actually wears a shirt (for about eighteen minutes of the episode, the first being Never Trust a Man with No Shirt On.
- Robb Wells does a lot of his own stunts. In this episode, he nearly crashed the bulldozer into the ditch while filming the scene after he loses the wrestling match.
- J-Roc does not appear in this episode, probably doing community service and pretending he's still in jail to boost his street cred. Tyrone also does not appear although DVS makes a short appearance.
- The only wrestling moves Bubbles executes in the whole episode are at the end and are against Corey and Trevor. He does a clothesline and a body slam.
[edit] Quotes
- Mr. Preston: What you've just done, pissing on my car; you have crossed the line with me. I've had guys throw barbeques at me, they've broke the windows outta my car, they've cursed and sworn at me, but the bottom line is... I aint sugar. Cause if the right hook comes out, crazy motherfuckers like you get knocked out. Don't be lookin' me in the eyes boy! I aint got no candy for you. No candy... except for the right hook.
